In the 1500s, many Germans came to the New World, primarily to Spanish-speaking areas. These Germans were not immigrant families, but adventurists, soldiers, clergy, and artisans. Some even published books about their experiences. There’s even a Brazilian movie (1999) about Hans Staden (1525–1575). Come and hear their stories.
