SLHC Food Drive begins

To commemorate the Schwenkfelder traditional day of thanksgiving, Gedaechtnisz-Tag (Day of Remembrance), on September 24, the Heritage Center is conducting a food drive from September 13 - 22 to help local individuals and families who are hungry. The collected items will go to The Open Link, a multi-service agency serving the greater Upper Perkiomen Valley. The Open Link provides services and programs to help educate, empower, and provide opportunities for people of all ages to lead healthy and productive lives.

Recommended items are pasta, fruit juice, canned tomatoes, canned fruit in juice, cereal, pancake mix/syrup, pasta and rice sides, brown and white rice, cooking oil, personal care items - deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, body wash, all-purpose cleaner, and toilet paper/paper products.

Donations can be brought to the Heritage Center Monday through Friday from 9am - 5pm, Saturday 10am - 3pm, and Sunday 1 - 4pm. We are also open until 8pm on Thursday. Please make sure that all donated items are within a good expiration date.
