The Heritage Center is thrilled to be the only U.S. location for the traveling exhibit Once Upon a Thread. It premiered in Alsace, France, in September 2022, at the European Patchwork Meeting. This wonderful exhibit has thirty textile artworks by internationally known artists that were jury selected in a competition. Textile artists were invited to submit work from the stories of their childhood and to take a “fresh look …and find the heroes, monsters, nightmares, and dreams buried in your memory or your imagination.” Once Upon a Thread is part of the European Patchwork Meeting, an annual gathering described as one of the world’s top textile arts events.

The exhibit will be on view here from May 12 through July 2 thanks to the generous support of Byer’s Choice, PP&L, the Keystone Quilters, and Kay L. Bachkai.
